Dr. Wendong Chen receives adjunct professor appointment from a top tertiary hospital in China.



 

On the morning of June 5, 2023, in the conference room of Xiangya Hospital, Central South University, Dr. Wendong Chen was appointed as a adjunct professor at Xiangya Hospital, Central South University. The ceremony was attended by Vice President Wu Wei of Xiangya Hospital and relevant department heads. Vice President Wu Wei presented the appointment certificate to Dr. Wendong Chen, and Professor Zhaoxin Qian, Vice President of Xiangya Hospital and Deputy Director of the Institute of Hospital Management, Central South University, introduced Dr. Wendong Chen's resume and academic achievements. Dr. Wendong Chen expressed great honor in joining Xiangya Hospital, Central South University. In recent years, real-world research and health technology assessments have seen vigorous development in China, and there is a pressing need for substantial evidence from health economics and health outcomes research to guide clinical practices and support medical insurance policies, health policies, and hospital management. The goal is to achieve rational utilization of medical insurance resources and improve patient health outcomes. This appointment signifies that both parties will engage in deeper and broader cooperation in this field. Vice President Wu Wei warmly welcomed Dr. Wendong Chen's affiliation with Xiangya Hospital, Central South University. It is hoped that Dr. Wendong Chen's association will bring new opportunities for the development of the discipline.

 

About Xiangya Hospital of Central South University


Xiangya Hospital was founded in 1906 and is located in Changsha, the capital city of Hunan province, China. As one of the top general hospitals in China, Xiangya Hospital is under the direct supervision of the National Health Commission of China and is affiliated with Central South University, one of the top universities in the country.

It houses four national scientific research platforms, 57 key laboratories, and research centers receiving research funds of 200 million US dollars. The hospital has published numerous research papers in top academic journals, including Science, JAMA, NEJM, and Lancet. Furthermore, Xiangya Hospital has been honored with 40 national and provincial scientific and technological achievement awards.
